Hi I'm new to this forum.

I am currently finishing my NS service and am interested in applying (Civil Eng)

I have done my SAT1 (M 780/ R730/ W640) and Math 2(800) and will be taking physics this coming Oct.

I have quite a bad poly GPA and am hoping that my SATs can help me. I also am holding a leadership position currently in the SAF and have received a company best specialist award. Will this help me application much? Do I spand a good chance or will it be a nail biter?

How is your Os?
when U say bad GPA how bad is bad?
what's your recommendation letter looking?

U should throw Purdue in the mix, it has a great civil engineering program.
location wise about just as ulu as UiUC.

Thanks for the reply.

My O's are average I guess, 15 for r5 12 for r4. GPA is bad means like 2.8/4 bad

My recommendations are only from army. sadly...

I do have quite alot of hours doing service to church if that helps =X

most students apply with Teachers' recommendations, more academic.
Not sure if the Army ones help.

U did Civil in Poly? Some Uni sees that u have a Dip auto place it as transfer student, with low GPA that is to your disadvantage. Which is why I asked U to try Purdue as they looked at Os more than Poly and U have good Os. U have a high chance of getting into Purdue more than the UiUC/UMICH/UCLA.

Uni like UCLA/UMICH/UiUC gets lot of applicants from top JCs. esp UMICH and UiUC gets alot ppl doing Engineering so it can be competitive. No harm applying to all if U know there is a reach Uni out there.

Univ. of Wisconsin–Madison, University of Florida has good Civil programs too. I think U have a good chance.

what did U study in poly? I sure hope it is not civil, else U have serious explanation to do in your essay.

U have showed U did academically strong in these general edu areas. I don't think it will be useful as a replacement for academic recommendation letters.

U have recommendation from NS/Church that fulfills the CCA part.
