Hello everyone!

I would like to ask around and find out from scholars and potential scholars what are their views regarding the PSC and ASTAR scholarships. How do they compare? And what do scholars from both sides have to say?

I'm currently in a dilemma because while I do have an interest in Bio and was looking at a research career at first, I am not so sure now. PSC really seems much more flexible than A*STAR at the moment.

Any words of advice from anyone?? Thanks! :)

What your question tells me is that you are not sure what you want to do in future. Take the A*STAR scholarship if you want to be a researcher or be intimately involved the business of research in the areas they specialise in. Ask yourself if you have the right personality traits and aspirations workwise.

As for PSC, they are looking for people to work in govt. Ask yourself if that is what you want to do. Are you keen on policy, people management and at least keen on one area within govt.

Of course, if you compare the 2, if you are unsure, then PSC is more flexible comparatively. Personal opinion here.

cheriechua,

what are your interests? do you want to be a researcher?

PSC scholarships are definitely far more flexible.
