Default What is the scholarship selection process like?

Depending on which scholarship it varies quite a fair bit. Some key points :

a) Online or paper application form to be submitted either during phase 1 (prelim results) or phase 2 (after A level results)

b) You can expect to be interviewed 3 rounds for normal scholarships with an assessment centre/personality profiler somewhere in between. Final round is usually with CEO or equivalent senior management.

c) For PSC, there is a 1 round panel interview with >10 people at a time.

it really depends on which organzation. Here are some things you might be asked to do. Note , not all are used. :

1) Reasoning tests. This is to measure reading/writing/IQ.
2) Situational tests : This is to see how you operate in groups or controlled environments.
3) Group interviewing : see 2). Subset.
4) Personality/Behavourial tests. This is to see your dominant traits and possible trait highlights.
5) Case Studies

Hope this helps. Just relax and be yourself.

that would depend on the scholarship provider, so it's best to ask them.

Hi,

I have a few questions regarding the time period of the scholarship selection process.

1) Generally, when do the scholarship agencies conduct their preliminary interviews/tests? 2 weeks after the application deadline (Late March)? Is it okay to call them to check on the scholarship status after 1 or 2 weeks (if no reply)?

2) For subsequent interviews, are they usually a few days apart? (roughly) 3-5 days? A week or more?

3) When do most scholarship agencies finalise their decisions? I understand that for UCAS applicants, the deadline for replying to offers is in Early May. Am I correct to assume that most scholarship agencies would have finalised decisions around this period?

Sorry for asking so many questions. Thanks a lot!

is the PSC interview exactly the same regardless of which ministry you are actually looking to work for? e.g. asking you about policy making when you're interested in healthcare..

Which scholarship you're applying for? If you're applying for any scholarship under the PSC umbrella, such as SAFOS SPFOS OMS SGS(O), you'll go through the psychological interview and the panel interview like everyone else.
