Default A level Results (Bad GP grades)

Hi guys, i am very confused about what to do right now. Hoping that you guys can give me some good advice. I have gotten a S for my GP for the recent A level exam. I am wondering if i should apply for an appeal of my results (asking them to re-calculate or re-evaluate my GP papers) but they told me that it will go both ways (getting better grades or turning it from S to U). I am not sure if i should take the risk as i am afraid that it will get worse, but at the same time i am hoping that it might become E. What do you guys think? Also, do i have chance to get into local universities?
