Hi,

Your paper will not be remarked / regraded in an appeal. What happens is that they will re-tally the score to ensure there was no error.

It is very rare that an error occurs, and I have only ever heard of 1 successful case for O levels.

Hi there!

I know of someone who appealed for a review and jumped a grade (from B to A). It was for a physics paper and one page wasn't marked in his case. Yup but these cases are really rare. They'll just recount the marks you have. So most likely it would be the same grade you got unless you are sure the marks are counted wrongly.

If it helps you sleep better at night, then please do it.

Look at it this way,

Pr(Gaining a better grade, X=1) = 0.01
Pr(No change in grade, X=0) = 0.99

E(X)= 0.01(1) + 0.99(0) = 0.01

You stand to gain (very very little) by choosing to appeal.

Will appreciate if you can list out the subject (does not matter if it is not a Science subject) and also the outcome of appeal?
Were they successful or did their grades maintain? Or...did it worsen?

I'm alright with the cost of the appeal but afraid that my current B grade will drop to a C if I appeal since I'm not sure how it'll be graded again or if the marker will be stricter, hence still undecided.

A PM will do as well if you are do not wish to post it openly.

Thanks
Hey yo! I appealed for GP. I got E!! For goodness sake.. E!! WHAT IS THAT MAN! *angry* Okay it might very well be my fault. but if i don't appeal i'll regret for life. Coz GP is the subject i'm most confident of scoring... -.- Yep, it's not just the uni entrance prob. It's also a pride prob. I'll appeal even if I get a D. Coz to me, it is still a chance i wanna grab hold of however slim chances of successful appeal would be... (and however high chances of wasting my $$ would be)

May I know if you have been successful in the appeal for your GP grade?

I got a "E" for my GP which is disappointing.

I really do feel like applying to review too... But its bloody expensive
I really do not know what went wrong for the subject where I scored A in prelims and ended up with a C. In fact, this was the case for another H1 subject too where I scored B for prelims and was like the top 3 students in cohort but ended up scoring only a C
I would really love to, but I do not have the financial capabilities, and everything just went so wrong I do not know what happened
