Hey I just finished my A Levels and I'm interested in this course. I think the curriculum is something that I'm going to really enjoy. I'm just worried about the job prospects. Is it really so bad? I think the pioneer batch has recently graduated, right? Does anyone have any info on the salary and employment rate?

Not that bad la, actually its salary is quite average, comparable to NUS B.Comp(Comm. & Media). Not so jialat as the NTU ADM. /necro

Hi to the seniors who is taking this course currently. How's the course difficulty compared to computer science course? I'm from NA level > ITE > Polytechnic (NYP Multimedia Infocomm Technology)

If I'm lucky enough to get in, I would be a direct year 2 student.

I have read through the course synopsis for information enginner and media, it requires to learn engineering physics and maths. Is it advisable for me to choose this course? I worried I will have a hard time to cope with physics and maths.

Thank you.

hi Rooney, the IEM degree opens our graduates to a wide array of career opportunities, as can be seen here.

IT specialist with IBM, software engineer with ST electronics, Game programmer with Tecmo Koei, Assistant manager with IDA.. etc.

but most of these jobs can be done by computer science/computer engine/IS grads isn't it? it doesn't make much use of the 'media' part of the course.

hi! i'm kinda stuck on a standstill actually. i was offered iem like a few weeks ago and i just wanna ask if it is really difficult to cope with the physics/engineering modules when my physics wasn't excellent in secondary school (b3 actually) and i didn't take physics in jc. i'm interested at how media is interspersed with the module but i'm kinda worried bc engineering takes a huge portion of the degree. please advice me! thanks in advance

Hi im a iem undergrad whose just completed yr 1. Dont worry about the physics cause you only take 1 mod of phy in year 1 sem 1. Year 1 mods are more of computing/electronics which are doable if u study hard.

Art and media mods are interesting. Took media writing in year 1 sem 2. But i guess theres video/photog in year 2. Otherwise iem is quite a fun and enjoyable course. Happiest engineers in ntu you could say
