In another section of the ST May 19 2013, there is an article by Aaron Low regarding funding a university education where he states that a a 3 year UK law degree would costs at least S$200K. It is amazing that the ST can print two articles on the same day on the same issue and give such differing costs. Magdalen Ng actually stated in her article that it would costs about S$142K for a 4 year UK degree for an overseas student.

A serious lapse in vetting and irresponsible reporting. Misleading the public to a certain extent, don't you think?

Yes it's terrible isnt it. "up to 8500 gbp" is the OLD limit for their LOCALS, and it's been upped to 9000 recently. I am paying 20k gbp + 6k college fee per year for my engineering degree (4 years), excluding living expenses. Ridiculous, really (Straits Time's fact-finding, I mean)

For more information on expenses per semester of different unis you can check out this website: www.flyingchalks.com.
They have quite a few university guides that provide nice, concise information related to the university/country! It helped me in planning my exchange studies! Hope this helps!
