heyy pearl. im intending to major in psychology too!
this is just my opinion but i guess we can pretty much work in most ministries. psychologists study human behaviour and their reactions to siutations. i guess that area of knowledge would be useful when they are designing campaigns and policies?

the job specifics though im not sure. im just really interested in studying humans lol tts why im intending to major in psychology.

you could also go into the education sector i guess. but if you wanna practise as a clinical psychologist, meaning diagnosing mental situations and giving therapy to patients, you'd definitely need to go for further studies.

thanks indemsify and nixus for ur replies im also very interested in human behaviour and would like to study this field in depth. however, after speaking with my relatives who have had decades of working experience, their general consensus is that there are few job opportunities other than the likes of social worker and counsellor >.<

Besides in civil service, psychologists can be employed in private corporations too. I know of someone who specialised in organizational psych and is now working in the private sector.
Check out this website it'll give u a better idea of the various employment opportunities of a psychologist http://www.singaporepsychologicalsoc...chologists.cfm

Oh yay potential course mates in Psych. (:

Many ministries need psychologists, to analyse the character of potential staff. Believe me, I just got grilled by one for 3 hours today for the HUS scholarship.

But yes, to practice, you need more than a degree. With a degree you can do government jobs, HR jobs, things like that.
