Wisdom tooth EXTRACTION:

Undergrad student: $12
Specialist: $80

Wisdom tooth SURGERY under LA:

Undergrad student: $50
3rd Year student Demo case performed by oral surgeon: $200
Oral surgeon: $400

You can walk in to NUH Dental centre and request to become a demo case or request undergrad extraction.

Hi, I am 46. The lower right wisdom tooth was removed years back and had a root canal done on the 1st molar but no crowning due to budget constraint. This molar is now shaking with pain and some swelling around it. Can this be attended to first?

Hello there. When you say 'shaking with pain', is it just how you describe the intense pain, or is the tooth actually shaking side to side and you can see it moving? The swelling could be due to an infection from that tooth. It is not possible to tell you what can be done with the tooth for sure until you are examined in the clinic. The tooth itself may even be non-salvageable and may require extraction.

I am sorry to hear about your plight, but we do not do walk-in emergency cases. If you are brought into undergrad clinics, emergency treatment can be rendered to you, but only if you are committed to continue the rest of the dental treatment.

Protocol must still be followed, meaning a complete examination and diagnosis is required before any action is taken.

I urge you to familiarize yourself with the content i have made in this thread, and give a serious thought to the amount of time and commitment that is required of you.

If you are very sure that you are willing to commit (treatment time may take up to a year, and you may have to come down once a week or once every 2 weeks. And you have to follow the schedule of the student), please drop me a PM with your full name, NRIC and HP number.

Thank you for your interest!

Hi Ashearo. I've pmed you.

Well the tooth is shaky. I can move it with my fingers easily. Pain is still bearable 6/10.

I've read the rules and don't mind to fit into the follow-up fortnightly but I need to get over the current condition first.

I just discovered that one of my wisdom tooth has actually decayed! Can I have it attended to at the NUS dental school too?

More information on how I can do so will be appreciated
