Default To those who are still 18 when they arrive to London, apply for free bus travel!!

As long as you're still 18 when you're in London, you get to apply to the 16+ oyster card, which gives you free (FREE!!) bus travel and a large discount off other modes of transport. E.g. normal fare on the tube is 1.20 pounds, but with the discount card it's only 80p

I realise lots of students don't know about this somehow, I was told by word of mouth only in the 2nd term of my studies (and wasted alot of money I could have avoided paying!)

Just to let you guys know

I think this is more applicable to the girls :P .

Most guys go to the UK after NS, by then we'd be too old for the card.

I think drunkenhammie was using 'guys' as a generic term.

Thanks for the tip. Thread stuck. Would be awesome if you can provide details on the procedure.

Default 18+ photocard

hahaha.. Yeah the poor Singaporean guys They end up feeling so old in uni.

For those who are 18 and below, you can get a form from any post office, and send it in together with all the needed documents (quite an annoying process actually).

For those who are 19 and above, you can only qualify for the 18+ oyster photocard, which gives you 30% discount off weekly/monthly passes (so no where as useful as the 16+ one)

It means I 'pinned' your thread at the top of this section of the forum, so it does not disappear into other pages as more new threads come up.
