Default Complaint from company

Hi moderators,

We just received a complaint from HOH Law Corporation today regarding a post that was posted in 2010 by twigandplums here: http://forum.brightsparks.com.sg/showthread.php?t=4295. They wanted us to delete the post and we've done so (twigandplums had been rather rude and quite a troll anyway).

They said that they're contemplating legal actions on the forum and the user.

Anyway, I've already written back to them and the matter should be resolved. But I wanted to highlight the case to everyone so we could be more vigilant when we monitor the forum in the future.

All these being said, I think all our active moderators have been doing a fantastic job! Besides contributing helpful posts, you guys also attend to reported posts and rule-flouting users really fast

Maybe we should add a disclaimer that we are not responsible for forum member's post. Or come up with some sort of a rule. Can they even sue the forum for that?

Personal opinion, they're just saying they're "reserving the rights to sue". But not actually doing it. It shouldn't be something that we worry over, but I guess we just have to be more cautious and remind users when they post something that seems defamatory.
