Depends on a number of factors you consider important...eg ranking, course rigour, do you prefer more structure or less in your course, etc.

What was your criteria when you chose these unis?

from rankings alone, York seems like the clear choice: http://extras.timesonline.co.uk/tol_...ub=53&x=34&y=8

3. York
25. Durham
28. Warwick
30. Royal Holloway
48. Manchester

wow thanks thats insightful i've basically narrowed it down to york, warwick and manchester and right now am looking toward where i would be most comfortable in. its also really confusing because under the world university ranking, manchester tops york and warwick and under uk rankings warwick seems to top the rest. and york now tops psychology so......

I think you can't go wrong with York for psychology. I would say the 3 universities are similar in terms of prestige in the average person's opinion. York stands out with cos it seems to have an outstanding psychology department.

you can check out the University of York page on wikipedia to read about that.

York seems to be the logical choice if you base it purely on the relavent ranking. Before you make your decision, you may also want to find out if the way it teaches matches you.

As an example, do you prefer lots of freedom to show your abilities or do you prefer to work with more structure?

Eg. The English dept at Durham's (ranked 1st for English) approach is to provide broad guidelines and less support (eg fewer tutorials) so as to allow students a broad canvas to express their ideas and abilities. It differs from, say Royal Holloway where the teaching content is more structured and tutorials more frequent.

hi! I was wondering. I'm really interested in taking up international relations. If so, would LSE be the best option in UK?
If not, can anybody recommend me other universities in UK?
Thank you ^^

Be careful because York is famous for racism. Search West Yorkshire, BNP heat map, also read about leaked BNP list, BNP witch-hunt .

In Singapore, does HR check the current ranking b4 making decision to hire?
do hiring managers check these ranking or just base on general impression.

if we looked at Guardian.. the way they had it is kinda different.
