Default NSF PT Math degree for Prospective CS student

I'm considering getting a BSc in Math from SIM to kill time in NS. Is the math degree useful ? Would it be beneficial for my plans of doing Computer Science during work ?

My plan is to finish the compulsory modules in SIM by the time i finish NS (1.5 years time) then go for the NUS degree. I'll only resume with the electives after finishing the NUS Degree.
