Default chemical engineering vs environmental engineering

hi,
i would like to enquire about the job prospects between chemical engineering and environmental engineering. As mentioned in previous forum posts, there is no difference between entering ntu or nus for courses. so i am assuming that if one enters ntu (chemical engineering) and another enters nus (chemical engineering), both will have an equal chance of being employed in the industry? also, i understand that environmental engineering doesn't seem to be as high in demand as compared to chemical engineering, does that mean that it does pale in comparison?
