Hey guys, apparently I'll be seeing you this Sunday as well ^^ I visited the campus last year and the seniors said the portfolio is literally just something the professors "flip through during the interview" just to have something to look at. So just compile and evidence of something showing you have artistic ability - photos, sketches, even your decorations on files etc - into a portfolio.

Also I understand the emphasis is on the aptitude test.

You only bring your portfolio along for the interview.

Default Transformation

I didn't expect it be some poem. Something related to transformation.

So what I wrote was abt Chuang Tzu something ordinary which is so obsessed and empowered by his dreams that he inevitable morphed into something extraordinary till he lost his initial identity. It was an identity crisis Tzu was facing in the process of this transformation.

So what I drew and build was a modern pagoda. Mine was inspired by e design of Taipei 101. So it ended up being very boxy.

I saw e other models there were really beautiful! Felt so inferiror

Care to share abt how u intepret tt poem n what u all drew n made?

i wrote that transformation is derived from transition and formation. Then i went on explaining the link between both words that brings about transformation and also how unpredictable, smooth yet unknowing.so i drew this city cum street landscape of ancient transition into modern buildings and faces of ppl in diff ages being blindfolded.my model was crappy cos when i completed i realised i was the only one who didn't make a building or a furniture.i did a face with its eyes closed and many staircases and a time bridge to depict how transformation is inherent and sometimes we humans get lost in transition.i cut the pupils and and stuff two pieces of paper to depict secrets and unpredictability of transformation.LOL..it was fun but super stressful cos there was not enough time!!!

my drawing and model was super shitty, especially since everybody else's was so nice. i didn't understand the question so i interpreted the question as writing my own story about transformation according to the guy. i personified a building which had been refurbished on the front but not the back and even though everyone compliments the new, the old is ignored and has aged. i am pretty surprised to be shortlisted for the interview.
