May I direct you to some articles:

http://community.jobscentral.com.sg/node/647
http://community.jobscentral.com.sg/node/794

These are actually about job interviews, but will equally apply to interviews for other purposes. I also suspect that since USP is an academic program, you will be judged on your "intellectual vitality" so be prepared for some highly creative questions.

Never been interviewed for USP before so that's all I can say. Hope this helps and all the best!

Default Just how good is USP???

Well as seriously speaking, how good is USP? I mean its like... I read thru the stuff.. its like.. besides studying different modules as the rest and having the chance to go overseas to study a sem or two, there isn't much difference.

For e.g. NOC (NUS Overseas College), a USP student still has to fight with a non-USP student for places to get into NOC. Might as well dun go for it...

Default Cut-Off For USP?

Hi, may i know what's the cut-off grades to be able to get into USP? If one gets 'A's for the content subjects but gets 'C's for GP and contrasting subject, does the person stand a chance?

Yes you stand a chance. Just apply. Theres nothing to lose. You do not need to have a scholarship to be part of USP. As long as your faculty is covered by USP, then go ahead.

As far as I know, A level grades are important in getting you shortlisted for USP interview along with the essay you write. I haven't come across any grade requirements for USP so far so I suppose anybody with decent grades stand a chance?

In any case, there's like only 180 places available if I am not wrong so it's not an easy programme to get into.

I believe USP is a "liberal arts" concept. Which means, other than grades, which is just a part of the requirement, you must be able to talk, participate, contirbute and develop ideas.

I suspect that grades may not even be highly important.

Seniors already in can explain or verify?

Nothing fanciful about talking to professors , one from philipines i think, another from india.

depends on your luck; you might get 2 professors or another group consisting of USP students. The latter will be more enjoyable in a conversation. The former is more serious interview if you meet them

Basically they ask why did you apply USP, where do you know about USP, what do you know and think of the USP curriculum, how do you think you will fit into the USP modules
