Default NUS Hall life vs NTU Hall life

I know that this topic should prolly be posted under the 'Uni life in NTU/NUS/SMU' but I just want a more direct answer. So I thought that I would post this topic separately.

Anyway, pertaining to my topic, I've always heard from many that NTU hall life is more fun and better than NUS'. But can anyone tell me why so and of course, if anyone feels that NUS hall life is better than NTU's, can you specify why?

I'm thinking that should I choose to study locally, I might want to stay in hall. Hall life itself is an important factor in determining whether I should choose NUS or NTU.

I think only one who has gone through hall lives in both NTU and NUS would be able to give a non-biased view.

okay then. why not just list down the pros and cons of hall life in both universities? In that way, I can weigh my options.

How easy is it to get into hall anyway? I know NTU guarantees a place for 1st Years, but is that the same for NUS?

What do you mean by 'harder'? Just curious.

I think both schools have equally vibrant hall life, but it could be because less people opt to stay in halls in NUS as it is more accessible to their homes. Most of my frens studying in NUS have never stayed in the halls b4, thus lesser ppl staying could give off the feeling of being less vibrant, but I think a person should look beyond that. The criteria of utmost importance should be which sch do u think will cater more to ur education needs since hall life is more or less the same.

not really sure about this, but I heard from my sis(she's an NUS undergrad staying in hall) that NUS has relatively less accommodation.

but judging by the posts I see in other forums, trying to get a room in NTU is just as tough as in NUS. (plus with YOG this year there might be a temporary space crunch?)

If it matters to you - there are much more foreigners in NTU halls (than NUS) because foreign students are given 9 extra points for hall application.
