I think you'll find a fair amount of 'cheena' communities in the three universities

I personally think that generalizations like that must have a basis for people to claim them - in this case, it is probably because of the profile of the applicants applying to NTU.
While there is no concrete evidence that there are more NTU applicants that use Chinese as their native language, my own experience coming from a polytechnic education has led to my observations that polytechnic graduates are normally more mother tongue-inclined in everyday conversational usage; ergo, if NTU is more popular with diploma graduates, it is natural that a fair portion of the applicants would have inherited the same type of traits.
This is, purely however, based on my conjectures and observations; I have no way to come up with the proof or statistics to back up my observations in this case
