It depends mainly on your interest rather than which course is better.

If I am not wrong materials engineering is more specific compared to engineering. Thus engineering should have a larger job scope. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

may i know why are there brackets beside each course.
e.g
CDD/C art design and media(CDD/D)(DDD/D)
is it the minimum that they will accept?

They are the 10th percentile cut-off (assuming GP and PW C) for 2010 and 2009 respectively. The first one was for 2011 intake.

Hi I'm curious to know if the igp stated are for what percentile? Looking at NUS FASS it seems to be higher than the one shown in their actual school website for 2012/2013. I have a UAS of 76.25 and I'm really worried if its inaccurate.

The one on this thread is not updated. Check nus website for the updated list. http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/gradeprofi...ramme-igp.html

Hi I did. which is why I am kind of confused. Logically I thought that with every year the IGP especially for Fass gets higher/more difficult to enter. Why is it that this year NUS 10th percentile fell? Looking back over the year of 2010&2011 my UAS score will make it impossible for me to enter but now it appears that I have some hope... Like to clarify please thanks!

yes, traditionally, IGP will rise year after year. Nursing was DDD a few years back but now it has risen to BCC for example. Reasons for this is increasing competition and also grade inflation. However, last year, SUTD increased the number of uni spots by 340 while NUS-Yale took in another 150. Furthermore, as of last year, there has been a cap put in place for foreign students while the universities have been increasing university spots by offering more courses. This is due to the PM's move to increase the number of local students going for further education. He mentioned it during the 2012 National Day Rally. You can read up on what he said. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this year's IGP rises again.
