Default Monash University

I'm currently doing Mass Communications in Ngee Ann Poly and I'm just exploring university options locally as well as overseas. I heard about Monash University from a friend who is doing a degree in Journalism there, I'm just hoping to get some views on this university and whether it is relevant to what I am doing? Journalism and Mass Communications are relativley different and I'm not sure what the university would offer me.

Hmm.. I've visited Monash Uni in Caufield, Melbourne this month for their annual grad show in industrial design, multimedia design and visual arts. Though it's not related to Journalism or Mass Comm, I think the uni's facilities and the quality of work from the grads are relatively good.

I think you may contact idp if you need more info on australian unis. http://www.idp.com/ They have an office in Sg that helps facilitate students who are interested in going over to aus for further education.

Hope it helps!

A word of advice to those intending to pursue an Australian education and working in Singapore after graduation :

It will be better to admit yourself into universities listed under the Group of Eight. It has come to my attention, or through word-of-mouth that those universities out of this league does not really sell well in the government sector.

My 2 cents worth

Hi Benzzz,

The Group of Eight represents Australia's leading universities, and more information can be obtained at http://www.go8.edu.au/

even the Go8 universities in australia aren't difficult to get in at all. just submit a level results (a levels dun need to be that good), usually no essays. the only thing is you must know when to apply - they have february enrolment and august enrolment i think, so you have the choice of applying early to enroll earlier.

Why ask?

Monash is not too bad for engineering sciences, it is quite ok and cheaper.

Not everything is about the name ....although my alma mater is UniMelb and USyd.
